From A Distance-2: Moments in the life of a Robin
She is so lovely,
Sitting there,
Seemingly,
Without a care.
But this I know,
She is aware,
Of everything,
And often scares.
Lately though,
She seems serene,
With eyes on eggs,
On them she’s keen.
Used to me,
She startles less.
I find this nice,
I do feel blessed.
I long for all,
To go quite well.
I feel some pride,
-For her that swells.
I try to be
Careful, too
-Averted eyes,
Catch hints of blue.
We both still wait,
The ache it’s true,
New life soon comes
She’s almost through.
